The Beautiful Birch Life
I wake up every day healthy, happy, grateful and feeling like the luckiest person in the world. How you may ask to have I accomplished what most have aspired to and few have succeeded to do in life? The simple answer to this question is that I truly do what I love and what I am passionate about. I wake up every morning asking myself “What can I design and create today?” Every day I am confronted with a new adventure and a new project which pushes me to live my life to the fullest. To understand how I got here it is important to understand my background which I will briefly explain below.
From a very young age, I was curious about anything and everything around me. I loved to study architecture and other various topics and there was no problem I could not solve. Well, almost nothing but nobody is perfect. As other children were headed to school with great dread, I was the exception and usually went excitedly to school to see what I could learn today. I was a sponge just waiting to absorb anything you put in front of me. I learned to love anything from music to visual arts and found myself expressing myself creatively by creating things, which is great for a person’s health. I began to travel, create music, art, stories and crafts.
This inquisitiveness and interest in everything continued into adulthood. Boredom would set in if I was not being exposed to something new or interesting. I found myself having to look within for different ways to challenge myself. That not only allowed me to get to know myself and to grow personally but it also allowed me to discover different passions. Nothing was out of my reach and I was willing and open to trying anything as this the part i know.
One of my biggest passions…
I discovered out of my curiosity is my ability to express myself through woodworking and architecture. I always knew I was naturally creative but had never explored using wood as a base for my creations. I soon found it to be something that I not only enjoyed but that I was talented at. Suddenly, I was able to see just how useful this skill was and started making everything out of wood. From graphic design, to birdhouses, from furniture to wall art, I started making every household object imaginable out of wood. From small household accessories such as coasters and trays to kitchen items such as bowls and spoons nothing was off limits for me to try.
So, why did this hobby become so consuming in my life to the point of almost an obsession? Well, that is easy to answer. What better product to surrounding me with than natural, biodegradable material. Not only that wood is strong, durable and has proven itself to be a cheap option compared to other materials. It can also very good for the environment when used appropriately. For instance, I later learned that wood is a good way to increase installation in the home which ultimately helped to lower my energy usage and do my part to live green.
The number one reason why I love using wood is its natural beauty. It is aesthetically pleasing adding a bit of class and timelessness to any room. From birch to oak to mahogany, wood became my passion, my life and eventually my career. I now live a very satisfying, fulfilling life doing one of the things that I love the most which are expressing my creativity through woodworking.
Very simply put, I have followed my passions and in return, I am able to spend every day creating. Whether it is a piece of furniture I created out of birch wood or creating some sort of craft, I am living my life to the fullest doing what I love to do most.Even though some may think I go a little overboard with my projects and my overall love of anything wood, ultimately I live life as I choose and am given the internal gift of joy that most will never be able to fully find. I encourage others, as I did myself, to follow their dreams and live each day to the fullest.
